The Penang state Education Department has directed the North East district education office to investigate claims that a Year One pupil in Tanjung Tokong, near Bukit Mertajam was slapped by a teacher yesterday.
Penang Education director Osman Husain said a report on the incident was expected to be known within the next two days.
“At the moment I cannot comment further because I am still waiting for the investigation report,” he told reporters after the Penang Wasatiyyah seminar in Bukit Mertajam today.
