The "convention" war has escalated with Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua accusing outgoing menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim of "talking rubbish".
He also confirmed that Pakatan Rakyat parties only submitted Khalid's name for the menteri besar post to the palace after the 2008 and 2013 general elections.
"There was never more than one name sent to the palace for the position of MB.
"In fact, Khalid's office drafted the letter to the palace to nominate himself for us," he added in a text message to Malaysiakini.
