A total of 127 fatal accidents that killed 139 people were recorded nationwide in the eight days since Ops Selamat 5/2014 was launched.
Bukit Aman federal traffic police chief SAC Mohd Fuad Abd Latiff said a total of 10,349 accidents were recorded during that period.
"A total of 117,957 summons were issued to traffic offenders while 1,598 summons were issued to offenders using the emergency lanes," he told reporters yesterday.
