Keshi’s Perlis connection

PETALING JAYA: Nigeria are only a win away from qualifying for the knockout stages and many have credited Nigeria’s glowing performances to Nigeria’s head coach Stephen Keshi.

However, many do not know that Keshi used to play in the Malaysian league from 1997 to 1998 with northern state, Perlis.

The Star Online spoke to the man who brought Keshi to Malaysia. Malian football agent Issa Diabate, 46 together with another agent Abdul Razak Abdul Salam introduced Keshi to Perlis football management at the time and they were satisfied with what they saw.
