General : Translator During Tun Razak’s Historic Visit To China Dies

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 (Bernama) — Datuk Kasim Nyak Maon, who was the translator during the historic visit to China by former Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, died today, according to a relative. He was 82.

Kasim passed away of heart complications at 4.45 am in a private specialist hospital in Damansara, said the relative, Datuk Syed Moheed Syed Kamaruzaman.

He had been in hospital for a week, he told Bernama.

Syed Moheed said Kasim leaves behind wife Datin Che Sayang Baharom and two daughters.
