KUALA TERENGGANU, July 18 (Bernama) — The Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital hopes to collect 900 bags of blood during the ongoing Ramadan month in preparation for emergency cases.
Dr Noor Azlina Kamis, transfusion medicine specialist at the hospital’s blood bank, said a blood donation campaign would be held at 18 locations.
“We are having the campaign at night to facilitate collection after donors have broken their Ramadan fast,” she told Bernama.
The hospital’s blood bank requires about 1,000 to 1,200 bags of blood a month.
Tonight, the campaign is being held at the Islamic Heritage Park, organised jointly by the blood bank and the Terengganu branch of the Mara Junior Science Colleges Ex-Students Association (Ansara).
