General : Takaful Industry Provides Good Income, Promising Future

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) – The young generation have been encouraged to be involved in the Takaful industry as it provides a good income and promising future, despite beliefs to the contrary.

Takaful Ikhlas Bhd’s unit, Usrah Associates Group Agency Manager, Samian Senin said by being a takaful agent, one can earn up to RM1 million annually after a decade in the industry.

“We achieved RM2.4 million as group contribution last year and recorded a 15 per cent growth year on year.

“It is considered a progressive, staggered and consistent contribution, despite the belief that the Takaful industry is quite slow.

“But if you want to be instantly wealthy, this industry may not be for you as the income gradually increases. I am fortunate enough to be one of the first few pioneer Takaful agents,” he told the media in Kuala Lumpur.

He said as long as there are children being born in the country and inevitably people dying, there will be business in the Takaful industry.

According to Samian, fresh graduates can earn about RM1,800 monthly and after a year, RM3,000.

He is among the Takaful Ikhlas high performing agents to be honoured at the 10th Takaful Ikhlas Agents Awards Night in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 9.

Another high performing agent, Zarini Shah Budin said the public, especially the Gen-Y, should banish the thought that being a Takaful agent does not provide for a stable income.

“Securing clients who opt for takaful products monthly is achievable, if one is willing to go the extra mile in search of them. This can lead in turn to a good income,” she said.

Zarini is the recipient of the Highest Contribution Award for New Agents.

On the other hand, the recipient for the Highest Contribution Award for the General Agency Manager category, Syafimazly Shafiee said, besides a stable income, it also helps agents to polish their communication skills.

“For instance, their public relation skills among Malaysians are heightened as they face different potential clients everyday,” she added.

The Takaful Ikhlas Agents Awards Night is organised to give recognition to those agents who have achieved goals and targets for the financial year 2013-2014.

The event will see the participation of more than 700 Takaful Ikhlas agents from throughout Malaysia. A number of agents will also be receiving performance awards for multiple business categories.
