KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 (Bernama) — The reappointment of pensioners in the civil service and statutory bodies does not affect promotion in the public sector as they are retained based on their expertise, the Dewan Rakyat was told Wednesday.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said so far only 36 pensioners were reappointed on contract basis in various ministries, departments and statutory bodies while 704 lecturers and 232 officers were retained by universities.
