General : PM Lee Returns Favour To Najib For Being Great Host

SINGAPORE, Aug 29 (Bernama) — Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong treated his Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with great hospitality in return for the latter’s treatment when they met in Putrajaya last April.

He also pledged to continue to cooperate and strengthen ties with Malaysia.

Recalling his visit to Putrajaya for the Leaders Retreat last April, Lee described Najib as a great host.

“Outside formal meetings, we enjoyed Musang King durian, and cruised around Putrajaya Lake. I was happy to return the favour yesterday (Wednesday) when PM Najib visited us.”

“PM Najib and I launched the first overseas Agrobazaar Malaysia branch together at Sultan Gate (Wednesday). The idea had come up during our April retreat. The Agrobazaar will be a one-stop centre for Malaysian agro-based products, including of course durians!, he said in his Facebook post Thursday.

After giving Najib a quick tour of Singapore’s Sports Hub and National Stadium, Lee said he then took his guests for dinner.

“We had dinner at My Briyani House. We all enjoyed the meal, especially when my guests found out that the chefs were from Johor,” he added.

Najib, accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Rosmah Mansor, was here yesterday for a one-day working visit to launch the Malaysian Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority’s (Fama) Agrobazaar in the republic.
