General : Floods Force Suspension Of Rapid Bus Services On Five Kuantan Routes

KUANTAN, Dec 24 (Bernama) — Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid Bus services in Kuantan, today suspended services on five of its 15 routes due to the floods in Kuantan and other parts of Pahang.

Rapid Kuantan chief operating officer Zainurul Hakim said the routes were Route 100 (Gambang), Route 101 (Indera Sempurna), Route 102 (Permatang Badak), Route 302 (Indera Mahkota 1) and Route 500 (Sungai Lembing).

“Route 400 (Pekan) has been diverted to Jalan Sungai Soi-Tanjung Lumpur because Jalan Tanah Putih is flooded.

“Services in the other routes are operating but we will suspend services if any of the routes should pose a risk to the passengers and drivers,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

He said consumers could call the Rapid Kuantan help line at 09-5663686 for enquiries.

According to reports this morning, the number of flood victims in Pahang has increased to 10,825 in eight districts.

The district of Kuantan was the worst affected, with 6,231 people being housed at 31 relief centres.
