General : DDEC Organises Design Summit 3.0 In February

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Design Development Centre (DDEC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), will organise the Design Summit 3.0 program in February next year.

The DDEC said in a media statement here today that the summit, with the theme ‘Celebrating Global Design’, was different from the past summit as it would merge several components such as the design competition, seminar and expo.

The statement said that the Design Summit 3.0 design competition involved Product Design and Packaging Design with participation being open to students of secondary schools and institutions of higher learning as well as professionals.

The Design Summit 3.0 Seminar would discuss various spectrums of the local and global design industry while the expo would be held for three days and displaying various creations of winners of the Design Summit 3.0 Competition, the statement said.

The DDEC also intended to forge cooperation between the various agencies, educational institutions, and corporate bodies including in terms of sponsorship, program contributor, speakers panel and jury of competition in order to promote further the national creative industry.
