SEREMBAN, July 25 (Bernama) — The Negeri Sembilan government’s Aidilfitri open house, scheduled on the first day of Syawal, has been cancelled.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the event has been cancelled out of respect for those killed in Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 which crashed in eastern Ukraine last July 17.
However, he said, his Aidilfitri open house at Kampung Tanjung, Rantau, near here on Aug 2 will be held as planned.
The MAS aircraft, with 298 passengers, including 43 Malaysians, was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it went down, believed to have been shot, in Donetsk, east Ukraine.
