PETALING JAYA, July 8 (Bernama) — There will be adequate supply of cooking oil for the Aidilfitri festive season, assured Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek.
He said the assurance was obtained from the producers, oil millers, wholesalers and the relevant associations during a meeting with the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities this afternoon.
He disclosed this to reporters after the breaking of fast organised by Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) at Wisma Ungku A.Aziz, here today.
Also present was Angkasa President Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah.
Hasan said the ministry would monitor to ensure there was no abuse by any irresponsible group.
At the function, the minister handed out contributions from Angkasa amounting to RM10,000 to 81 single mothers and orphans from the Darul Sakinah Orphanage.
