JOHOR BAHARU, Oct 1 (Bernama) — The state government is allocating RM1.3 million this year through the Johor Agriculture Department to assist rural agro-based entrepreneurs under its Projek Pembangunan Usahawan Industri Asas Tani.
State Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Ismail Mohamed said the project will focus on food processing and handicrafts, good manufacturing practices and halal certification.
Speaking at a the close of a three-day agro-entrepreneurship seminar organised by the department here Wednesday, Ismail said the lucrative agro-based industry could contribute significantly to the state’s economy.
