Amid the ongoing Anwar Ibrahim sodomy conviction appeal, a survey reveals that almost half of Malaysians polled lack faith in the country's judicial system.
According to Merdeka Centre, the survey, involving 1,500 respondents, was carried out between Oct 11 and Oct 26.
"The survey found that only 38 percent of Malaysians report feeling confident in the country's judicial system compared to 48% who responded in the negative," said the independent pollster in a statement today.
The Malaysian judiciary is often accused of being biased in matters involving opposition politician.
