KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 (Bernama) — Bilateral ties between Malaysia and New Zealand have become very strong, via education, especially in the higher education sector.
BERNAMA – English Version
New Zealand High Commissioner David Pine said it began with the Colombo Plan under which the New Zealand Government gave funding to build the Faculty of Agriculture in Universiti Malaya (UM) in 1960.
“Today, the relationship (involving Malaysia and New Zealand) is very strong at the institutional level, like in university and even in school,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters at the ‘homecoming’ of the UM Agriculture Graduates Alumni event here Friday.
