He said he visited the PAS leader at the hospital last Monday and that he was well and had been asked by doctors to rest in hospital.
Ahmad said it was wrong of certain people to spread rumours about Nik Abdul Aziz through the social media.
Islam prohibited anyone from spreading information of a personal nature about another person without verification, he said.
“He has a family, so you have to ask them. You cannot believe unverified sources,” he said in a statement here today, dismissing rumours on the social media and WhatsApp that Nik Aziz had died.
“Let us pray that he remains well and contributes to the development of the ummah,” he said.
