The Selangor state assembly is mulling paying backdated salary, as far back as ten years, which was withheld from several state assemblypersons due to suspension: http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/281906
The House's rights and privileges committee chairperson Hannah Yeoh said that this is being considered after a Federal Court decision, which ruled that Puchong MP Gobind Deo Singh was still entitled to his salary despite being suspended from Parliament for a year in 2009.
If approved, seven state assemblypersons are expected to benefit, of whom six are from Umno, including the former Selangor Menteri Besar Khir Toyo.
