The Security Offences (Special Offences) Act (Sosma) which was introduced to replace the Internal Security Act (ISA) is less fearsome than its predecessor, laments former Court of Appeal Judge Mohd Noor Abdullah: http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/283274
Mohd Noor said this is because Sosma only covers certain offences compared to the ISA which was more wide-ranging, according to a Sinar Harian report today.
"The offences under Sosma is only limited to offences such as trafficking women and terrorism, even though there are many more offences that we want to handle but are not covered by Sosma," he was quoted as saying.

Gov’t should have retained ISA and amend to allow for judicial review.
