The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) will investigate the 'I Want to Touh A Dog' event held in Petaling Jaya, Selangor yesterday.
According to Bernama, Jakim director-general Othman Mustapha said the event had impinged on Muslim sensitivities.
He added that the Shafie school of thought, which Malaysian Muslims adhere to, consider dogs and pigs as najis (unclean).
"As Muslims, we already have guidelines on dogs.
"Jakim will investigate the matter and any action will be taken according to existing regulations," the newswire reported him as saying.
