Ministry has no hand in The Economist delay
The latest edition of international current affairs magazine The Economist was held back on the publisher's own initiative, and not on directive of the government, a Home Ministry officer said today.
The ministry’s Publication and Quranic Texts Control Division secretary Hashimah Nik Jaafar told Malaysiakini that she is also unaware of what “sensitive content” that the magazine contained that led to the delay.
“I don’t know why The Economist have been delayed. It could be their moral obligation, because they respect our multiracial society."
