Malay rights group Perkasa has established ties with a large Indonesian NGO, Laskar Merah Putih (LMP), which has previously spearheaded protests against Malaysia: http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/284305
Utusan Malaysia reported today that the ties were established to form a new coalition called Gagasan Sebangsa Serumpun Nusantara (Sebangsa) after Perkasa attended LMP’s 14th anniversary in Indonesia recently.
Ibrahim believes that the cooperation between the two NGOs could also spark a new “diplomatic track” between the two nations.
“It is Perkasa’s and LMP’s wish to help the governments ensure that the relationship between citizens of both countries is as strong as the diplomatic ties between the two nations,” he reportedly said.
