Last June, the lightning arrestor that fell from the 21-storey Menara Umno in Penang killed two persons during a freak storm.
One of the victims, hawker Lim Chin Aik, 44, who was passing by Jalan Macalister that fateful day on June 13 and whose body was never found, was caught under the massive structure as it crashed down to the road.
Yesterday, photos of Menara Umno's roof top signage that appears to be tilting 15 degrees made rounds on the social media, causing slight panic among Penangites on the island.
Facebook users are warning others to keep away from Jalan Macalister where the building is situated as the structure appears to be in danger of collapsing.
However, the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) building director Yew Tung Seang denied that the possibility.
