Here’s a favorite post of ours from the past: Opponents of the Lynas rare earth refinery in Pahang today held a small protest during the Australia Day celebration at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Among the guest were officials from Lynas Corporation, an Sydney-based company which mines ore in Western Australia in order to be processed in Malaysia.
Critics of the company, such as Kuantan-based group Himpunan Hijau, believes that if the Australian laws do not allow rare earth refining activities in Australia, the same should apply to Malaysia.
