In London, UniMAP’s PhD student Farah Farhana Zainal’s research product on anti-corrosion coatings received the Double Gold Award in the ‘Users’ category and Double Gold Award in the ‘Industry’ category at the two-day event, held at the Barbican Exhibition Centre, UniMAP said in a statement.
Farah Farhana’s environment-friendly product, based on wastes from industrial plants and which serve as corrosion coating, also received a special recognition at the Romanian Inventors Forum (RIF).
Her project was presented by the university’s Faculty of Engineering Technology (FETech) senior lecturer Dr Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah at BIS.
Meanwhile an ‘Intelligent Peripheral Hemodynamic Assessment and Diagnosis Tool’ (I-PHAD) product produced by a senior lecturer of the School of Mechatronic Engineering, Dr Shahriman Abu Bakar, won the Double Gold Award in the design category, and also received a special award, EUROINVENT Gold Medal, it said.
A senior lecturer from the School of Computer and Communication Engineering, Dr Amir Razif Jamil Abdullah, also received a special award, EUROINVENT Gold Medal, for his product, the ‘Triple Play Services Zero Cross Correlation for FTTH OCDMA System’.
Meanwhile, Prof Dr Rezuwan Kamaruddin received a special award from Pro Invention Haller Foundation in Poland via his innovative finding, ‘Greenhouse with Fertigation in the Tropics’.
In the statement, UniMAP Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kamarudin Hussin expressed his appreciation with the university lecturers’ achievements, which he described as a success for the researchers and management of UniMAP’s Centre for Research and Innovation Management.
