“Teachers’ responsibility is not only to accept advances in the teaching and learning process brought about by modernisation.
“They are also agents of change and a source of inspiration and knowledge for their students,” he said at the launch of the three-day National Teachers Convention 2014 here today.
He stressed that the borderless world of the 21st century required teachers to have pedagogic skills that matched current needs.
“In the borderless world, education information can be readily accessed by parents and students; it is at the tip of one’s fingers, so to speak.
“Teachers must embrace this reality as it is essential in spurring the transformation of the National Education Development Plan 2013-2015,” he said.
