PSD director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal said the department would look thoroughly into the offences and collect feedback from all ministries involved, including issuing a show-cause letter on the misconduct to the civil servants involved.
“Right now, we are at the initial stage of investigation…we have to look into the offences committed by the civil servants involved, including asking them to give their reasons for the misconduct before we can take any action on them,” he told reporters after opening the PSD Patriotism Carnival 2014 here Friday.
During the session with the media over the report last Wednesday, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said the report revealed, among others, that from five complaints, known as reprimands, 46 public officers had been identified for disciplinary proceedings.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Zabidi also said that the full report on Malay language audit carried out by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) on government departments and agencies since last year would be released in June 2015.
He said the audit proved DBP’s concern over the use of the national language among civil servants.
“The Malay language audit is important to ensure that all civil servants will use and uphold the status of the national language, be it in conversation or in the preparation of official documents,” he said.
He said over 30 government departments and agencies had been audited so far this year.
