KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) – The police today denied rumours that a syndicate has ‘robbed and killed several women’ in the capital city.
Assistant Chief of Inspector General Secretariat (Corporate Communications) ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the rumours spread via Whats App and Facebook are untrue.
“Rumours that several women were robbed and stabbed to death at Puduraya, Bukit Bintang and KLCC by a syndicate are untrue.
“Such false information spread in July 2012 has returned to create fear among the public. The police have not received reports of such incidents.”
Asmawati advised the public not to easily believe in rumours spread via unconfirmed sources.
