IPOH, June 2 (Bernama) — Perak recorded the highest arrest for drug-related offences in the country, totalling 5,179 people, between January and May this year, said State Deputy Police Chief Datuk A. Paramasivam.
The number, he said, showed an increase of 1,136 people from the corresponding period last year.
He said of the 5,179 people, 836 of them were for drug trafficking and 4,267 were drug addicts, against 531 and 3,458, respectively, during the same period last year.
