KUANTAN, Nov 24 (Bernama) — In raids conducted under Ops ‘Harga Barang’ since beginning of the year, the Pahang branch of the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) managed to seize a variety of goods amounting to RM168,000 in the state.
Its director Sharuddin Jali said inspection on 13,000 premises led to discovery of 403 cases where the traders failed to comply with the regulations on fixed priced items.
“Of the total amount, RM74,000 were in value of compounds,” he told reporters after leading a surprise check on Kuantan market and a supermarket here today.
In the operation which deployed 30 enforcement staff, a trader in the market was caught not displaying price tags.
