He said Sabah had a variety of attractions and various aspects of development could be implemented in tandem with the pace of development in the other states.
“The state government and the federal government have to sit together and finalise any plan for the well-being of Sabah,” he told reporters upon arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport here today.
Borhan took over as the Sabah Federal Secretary on Feb 1, succeeding Datuk Abu Bakar Hassan who has retired.
Borhan, 55, holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Hartford, United States, and a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Malaya.
Borhan, who has been in public service for over 28 years, joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service on Jan 13, 1986.
He has vast experience in public management and human capital development and had served as deputy secretary-general (finance and development) in the Prime Minister’s Department from Sept 25, 2012.
He has also served as the director-general of the Department of Youth and Sports and as deputy secretary-general (management) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
