ALOR SETAR, June 6 (Bernama) — The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry wants suppliers to increase stocks by 10 per cent for cooking oil and flour in 1kg packs in conjunction with the upcoming fasting month and Aidilfitri festive season.
Its deputy minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said this was necessary to cater to increased demand during the period.
“The minister (Datuk Seri Hasan Malek) himself will be meeting suppliers on this. We also ask for their committment to ensure uninterrupted supply of these items,” he told reporters here today.
