PORT DICKSON, June 5 (Bernama) — The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry has urged all parties to take precautionary measures to prevent open burning during the forecasted dry spell due to the El-Nino phenomenon.
Its deputy minister Datuk Sri Dr. James Dawos Mamit called on the state governments, local authorities and land owners to closely monitor dry and easily combustible areas such as waste disposal sites, peat forests and plantations.
