She said the deceased’s family could have the remains sent to Kuala Lumpur International Airport or direct to their hometown in Kuching, Sarawak.
“Yesterday I contacted the family and they said if it was only Tambi Jiee’s remains that were being sent back, then they want them to be sent directly to Kuching and the ceremony held there,” she told reporters.
Rohani was present at the ceremony to honour nine other victims of the tragedy at Bunga Raya Complex, KL International Airport in Sepang, Tuesday.
Tambi, a Shell employee had been working in Khazakhstan for the last three years and was on reassignment to the company’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
His wife Ariza Ghazalee and their four children were with him on the journey back to Malaysia when the national aircraft crashed in eastern Ukraine, Donetsk on July 17.
Ariza’s remains and those of the couple’s eldest son Mohd Afif were brought back on Aug 22.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the documents for Tambi’s remains were being prepared.
He said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussien would announce the date for departure home of the remains, once they are released by the Amsterdam authorities.
