MCMC Sabah and Labuan Federal Territory Region Director, K. Jussly Elis, said the present initiatives included the Wireless Village (KTW) which was being developed in rural areas to close the digital gap and provide Internet access to the people.
“Besides the KTW project, the MCMC sees the importance of the development of the content industry or the multimedia industry in spearheading the national communications and multimedia industry to the next level after the development of the infrastructure phase, which includes penetration, coverage and quality of service,” he said here Thursday.
Elis said this in his speech at the Seminar to Empower the National Heritage through Broadband organised by the MCMC with the cooperation of the National Culture and Arts Department (JKKN), The Sabah Beaufort Cultural Association (PEKA) and the Sabah State Farmers’ Association (PPNS).
Also present were Sabah Information Department Director Datuk Almain Ajirul, Sabah Broadcasting Director Abdul Jalani Mahmud and Sabah Special Affairs Department (JASA) Director Abdul Manap Lakariba.
