Federal Court corporate communications and international relations head Mohd Aizuddin Zolkeply, Wednesday informed the media of the hearing date.
On April 15, this year, the hearing of the appeal was postponed to an unspecified date as Dr Khir’s counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah was attending a conference in Japan.
The High Court in Shah Alam had on Dec 23, 2011, found Dr Khir guilty of obtaining for himself and his wife valuable items, namely two plots of land and a bungalow at Section 7, Shah Alam four years ago, and sentenced him to 12 months jail.
The former menteri besar, 49, was also ordered to forfeit the ownership of the properties obtained and hand them over to the government.
On May 30, last year the Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal and upheld the High Court’s decision.
The former Sungai Panjang assemblyman was accused of obtaining for himself and his wife, Zahrah Kechik, 47, two plots of land and a house at No. 8 and 10, Jalan Suasa 7/1L, Shah Alam from Ditamas Sdn Bhd through its director Datuk Shamsuddin Hayroni. The offence was committed at the official residence of the Selangor Menteri Besar at Jalan Permata 7/1, Section 7, Shah Alam, on May 29, 2007.
