KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 (Bernama) — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Thursday launched the Kampung Baru Comprehensive Development Master Plan and gave the assurance that the redevelopment of the settlement in the heart of the city would not disregard the rights to property nor the original heirs.
He said the drawing up of the master plan had gone through a tight process and a series of engagement with the owners and inheritors of land there.
“The population is projected to rise to 77,000 (by 2035), up from the current figure of 18,372, and to meet their needs, the plan proposes to provide 17,500 residential units including mixed-income housing that focuses on the heirs.
“This is proof that the government ensures that no owner or inheritor of land will be left out of the Kampung Baru redevelopment,” he said when launching the master plan in the capital.
Muhyiddin said the implementation of the master plan would bring much benefit to the people, particularly the people of Kampung Baru, in terms of transforming and driving socio-economic development.
