BATU PAHAT, May 27 (Bernama) — Johor has been able to reduce its crime rate for five consecutive years since 2008, recording a drop of 9,519 cases, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar Tuesday.
He said for the period between January and April this year, the crime rate in the state recorded a drop of 10.32 per cent or 594 cases.
“Although the crime index does not reflex the actual crime trend, the huge drop is proof of the commitment by the Johor police in reducing the crime index rate,” he said in his speech at the opening of the Batu Pahat District Police headquarters here.
