EXIM Bank Head of Administration Department Mohd Saupi Ibrahim said the donation was aimed at alleviating the burden of residents in Kampung Lubok Setol, who were affected by the recent floods, in preparing for their children’s school necessities.
“We are distributing school uniforms, bags and stationary items to the pupils. This is part of our corporate social responsibilities.
“During the floods, we have also sent food supplies to the flood relief centres,” he told reporters after presenting the donation here Sunday.
Also present was the Kelantan National Unity and Integration Department director Safidah Abu Samah.
Meanwhile, Safidah said the department would provide more trainings to strengthen the skills and capabilities of the Voluntary Patrol Scheme (VPS) members in facing floods in the future.
She said, at present, there were over 10,000 members of VPS and 452 neighbourhood watch areas in Kelantan.
“Among the skills that needs to be given extra attention are in handling boats and giving emergency assistance. We will seek the help from the Fire and Rescue Department in this matter,” she told reporters.
