He said that if the people of all races could not live in harmony as a society, it would give rise to undesirable situations in a cosmopolitan country.
“I appeal to you, the people of Kedah, to exercise moderation and prevent yourselves from being influenced by those who attempt to sway you to the left or right.
“Let’s occupy the middle position to safeguard our interests collectively; a little sacrifice will bring great benefits, and this has to be nurtured,” he said at the presentation of contributions to the elderly and poor at an event organised by the San Sheng Welfare Organisation in Taman Putra Jaya here.
Mukhriz said welfare activities were programmes that fostered unity among the people of various races, and added that unity was an important element in the progress of a state.
By nurturing unity, one would be able to create a peaceful state that was successful in every initiative undertaken for the benefit of the people.
