He said that in facing the various issues and challenges, a work culture that was speedy, accurate and with integrity among the civil servants including the teachers must be practised to fulfill the needs and aspirations of the people.
However, he said, although the speedy and accurate work culture was there, there were still teachers who lacked integrity.
He described these teachers as not dedicated teachers who had caused the leaks in the question papers for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) recently.
“There are teachers who are willing to sacrifice the dignity of the teaching profession. Of course it is good to help their students to achieve success quickly but not to the extent of leaking to them the examination questions,” he said at a ceremony to hand over the National Level Awards for School Resource Centres, here Tuesday night.
He described such teachers as traitors who must be eliminated.
For the award, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Panglima Perang Tengku Muhammad, Kuantan, Pahang emerged as champion in the secondary school category, Sekolah Menengah La Salle, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was the runner up while Sekolah Menengah Agama Mahmudiah, Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu was in third place.
They won a cash prize of RM5,000, RM3,500 and RM2,500 respectively together with a trophy, certificate and books.
For the primary school category, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Felda Jerangau, Hulu Terengganu, was the champion while runner-up was SK Matang Jaya, Padawan, Sarawak, and in third place was SK Permatang Tok Mahat, Nibong Tebal, Penang.
They took home a cash prize of RM4,000, RM2,500 and RM1,000 respectively together with a trophy, certificate and books.
