She said these would be established in Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIAM) Kuantan and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Alam.
“At present there are only three teaching hospitals, namely Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM), Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital, Kubang Kerian,” she said when replying to a question from Dr Mansor Abdul Rahman (BN-Sik) at the Dewan Rakyat sitting here Tuesday.
Meanwhile replying to Datuk Mahfuz Omar (PAS-Pokok Sena) on the status of the Digital Autopsy Diagnostic Station (DADS) equipment procurement project, she said the ministry had made a decision to proceed with it.
She said the decision was made after examining the requirement, specification, appropriate method of procurement and the provision of financial constraints as only one company was interested to supply the equipment.
DADS or virtual autopsy method is an alternative to conventional surgery that uses imagery technology in investigating criminal cases and can lessen pollution to the evidence materials.
