An initial investigation found that the petty cash of more than RM1,000 and the closed-circuit television camera server were missing, according to administrative assistant Zafri Razali, 32.
He said that when he arrived for work at 8 am, he found the stairs leading up to the first floor of the office in darkness.
“When I got to the office, I was shocked to see shattered glass on the floor and the door to the office open,” he said.
Zafri said the office was in a state of turmoil with all the drawers of the staff as well as the office of Bernama Pahang bureau chief Noor Shamsiah Mohamad ransacked.
He then contacted the bureau chief and other staff to inform them of the incident.
The burglars had also cut off electricity supply to prevent the incident from being recorded on the CCTV camera.
A police report has been made at the Kuantan District Police headquarters at about 9.30 am.
