KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) — The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) trade deal would be concluded before United States (US) President Barack Obama ends his term in January 2017.
US Ambassador to Malaysia Joseph Y Yun said although the multi-lateral trade agreement was complicated in nature, virtually all partners would want to conclude it as soon as possible.
“Obama ends his term in 2017 and we are now in May 2014. So, I think he (Obama) has a lot of time. All countries have issues and I see it (TPPA) would be concluded within Obama’s term. Absolutely,” he said at a media roundtable at the US embassy here Monday.
