In a statement Tuesday, Matrade said it hopes the event would improve exports of local medical products and services to Europe, enable Malaysian companies to evaluate the industry’s market potential, and promote local medical healthcare products and services globally.
Medica 2014 is set to make a huge impact given that Germany has the third largest medical devices market in the world, ranking behind the USA and Japan, said Matrade.
In 2013, the medical devices market was valued at US$ 25.6 billion or RM85.26 billion, and is forecast to grow 3.8 per cent annually by year 2018, an above average level for the region, it said.
The event will feature laboratory equipment, diagnostics, physiotherapy/orthopaedic equipment, disposable items, high-tech solutions for medical technology, electro medicine, medical technology, operating technology and equipment as well as medical technology.
