PUTRAJAYA, June 23 (Bernama) — To curb leakage and wastage, the government’s procurement process should be efficient and transparent, says Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek.
“Every year, the Auditor General’s Report shows materials and services procured at higher than market rates or they are not fully utilised and sub-standard,” he said at the launch of guidelines on fighting bid rigging in public procurement and a book entitled ‘Help Us Detect Bid-Rigging’ here today.
Hasan’s speech was read by his deputy, Senator Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
