A group from the Muslim Consumers Association Malaysia (PPIM) says that the picture of a Hindu deity next to a halal logo on a mineral water bottle label is insensitive to Islam and should be charged under sedition.
“We have made a police report and want the police to do an investigation and take necessary action under the Sedition Act or other laws,” PPIM secretary-general Sheikh Abdul Kareem said today.
According to a KiniTV report, the group said placing the Hindu deity beside the halal logo was an insult to Islam, the relgion of the federation, by the manufacturers of the product.
