The opposition leaders in Sarawak have described Anwar Ibrahim’s conviction over Sodomy II charges as a ‘dark day’ for justice and democracy in Malaysia.
“If even a person of Anwar’s standing, when oppressed by the executive (powers), can’t find justice in the system, what will become of an ordinary person when he is oppressed by the rich and powerful?” asked Sarawak DAP chief Chong Chieng Jen.
