Its director, Mohd Nor Musa said the people, especially traders and consumers who did not understand the GST clearly, could obtain clarification at district PPDNKK offices.
“Previously, we held various programmes, as well as briefings for all groups on the GST.
“Nonetheless, if there are groups which still do not understand (the taxation system), they can contact our officers at district-level.
“We will spend sufficient time to provide information on the GST, on who are eligible for GST and what traders should not do…all will be explained in detail, so the public should take the opportunity,” he told reporters here today.
Mohd Nor said PPDNKK was currently embarking on ‘Ops Catut’ (Anti-Profiteering Operations) to ensure no trader raised the price of goods to profiteer.
Offenders can be charged under the Weights and Measures Act 1972 and the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
