The Malaysian Bar is still considering whether it will file an appeal over the admission of former investigating officer to Sodomy II, Jude Blacious Pereira, as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court by March 25, 2015.
Bar vice-president Steven Thiru, when contacted by Malaysiakini, confirmed they have yet to decide on the matter.
“We have a month (30 days) from the date of the decision to file an appeal, and if we decide to appeal (or not),” he said.
It was reported that the Ipoh High Court had allowed the former police superintendent’s petition of enrolment to be a practising lawyer within three months from Dec 17, the date of the court’s decision.
